Neighbors,
This week, we held Ward Night at Dope Drip Café on Division, a beautiful new space that just opened its doors to the public. During the evening I shared updates about the City Budget (recapped below) and discussed how we can support our local Rapid Response Network to protect one another. We also talked about best practices for keeping ourselves and our neighbors safe during difficult moments. It was a night filled with good energy, honest conversation, and connection, the kind of evening that reminds me why this work matters. I want to give a huge thank you to the Dope Drip team for creating such a warm place for the community and for the delicious food. Spaces like this remind us what happens when creativity and care meet in Humboldt Park. |

Budget Season Budget season has officially started, and my office started with a briefing from the Better Government Association. You can check out their snapshot here and sign up for their policy budget snapshot alerts here. I will be issuing a community survey soon, and I would love your feedback, particularly on the new proposed taxes. |

Ward at Your Door Even though it was raining this week our team still went out for Ward at Your Door because rain or shine we are here for you. It was beautiful to see so many homes already decorated for Halloween. We knocked on doors, checked in with families, and made sure everyone had the latest updates and information they needed. I also invited families to sign up for our next Ward Night Pop-Up. Connecting with you, one-on-one, is one of the best parts of this work. |

Senior Wellness Fair We had a wonderful time at our Senior Wellness Fair at the Humboldt Park Fieldhouse. The room was packed with our beautiful community pillars, our seniors, who danced, played games, and shared a communal lunch together.
Thank you to the Chicago Park District—Humboldt Park for hosting us, to all of our fellow electeds who continue to show up in the community with us, and to all our community partners who brought vital resources for our seniors. Events like this remind me that wellness is not just about health; it is about connection, joy, and care across generations. |

Halloween in the 26th Ward As we head into Halloween, I want to encourage everyone to take part in the joy around us. Whether sharing candy with a neighbor or joining one of our community events, make space for fun and connection. Creating moments of joy, especially in challenging times, is one of the most powerful ways we can care for ourselves and each other. |

Boulevard Landmark District Extension Project |
The “Logan Square Boulevards District” is a significant part of our community's history and character. An extension of this Landmark District is currently being considered. This process typically takes 6 to 9 months and includes communication and notices throughout the process.
This project builds on decades of historic preservation work and reflects the ongoing commitment of the 26th Ward to encouraging sustainable development and maintaining the unique identity of our neighborhoods.
You can learn more about the project, review FAQs, and submit your thoughts at the26thward.org/boulevard-landmarking. |
The 26th Ward's zoning process requires anyone requesting a zoning change to first complete a zoning intake form. After review, they present their request to the Zoning Advisory Committee and answer questions. In some cases, they may also present at a community input meeting. |
