Neighbors,
As we approach a new year, it is essential that we take the time to reflect on the ebbs and flows of 2025. 2025 was an emotional year, filled with the witnessing of devastation within our Latino and immigrant communities. We witnessed parents stolen from their families while dropping off their children at school. Elders were thrown to the ground and brutalized in the name of federal immigration enforcement. As well as masked agents in our most sensitive spaces, such as hospitals, churches, and daycares.
Though the manifestation of our barrio’s resistant nature was a reassuring and prideful sight, it did not come without a cost. I want to thank my staff for working tirelessly in multiple facets to ensure the 26th Ward and its residents are taken care of in the way they deserve, as federal agents terrorized us on our streets and the federal administration weaponized economic sanctions. I want to thank every resident, in and outside of the ward, who pushed past their limits to keep their communities and neighbors safe through rapid response and mutual aid efforts.
With the holiday season right around the corner, I urge everyone to spend intimate time with their loved ones, rebuilding every part of themselves that may have become depleted this year. ICE never left, and Border Patrol will be back in our neighborhoods. And we will be ready because we keep us safe. |

Boulevard Landmark District Extension Project |
The “Logan Square Boulevards District” is a significant part of our community's history and character. An extension of this Landmark District is currently being considered. This process typically takes 6 to 9 months and includes communication and notices throughout the process.
This project builds on decades of historic preservation work and reflects the ongoing commitment of the 26th Ward to encouraging sustainable development and maintaining the unique identity of our neighborhoods.
You can learn more about the project, review FAQs, and submit your thoughts at the26thward.org/boulevard-landmarking. |
The 26th Ward's zoning process requires anyone requesting a zoning change to first complete a zoning intake form. After review, they present their request to the Zoning Advisory Committee and answer questions. In some cases, they may also present at a community input meeting. |

We are currently reviewing zoning change requests for the following properties. |
